故事始於 1853 年，美國南北戰爭前夕。 Edward White 在康乃狄克州經營一間只有他一人的小鞋坊。

1920–30 年代，第二代 Otto White 投入超過 20 年研究腳部結構， 並於 1926 年註冊了 White’s 最具代表性的設計：
